Choosing the right photographer to trust with your confidence, safety and comfort is one of hardest parts of booking a photoshoot. Which is why I wanted to introduce myself first so that 'I don't know how to break the ice!' part is already out of the way.
Hello!
I'm Hannah, and I have been a photographer ever since I could press a shutter button. When I'm not behind the camera you might find me with my head in a book, claiming that main character energy, or finding unusual things in the back of vintage shops to use as props/set designs pieces.
My pronouns are She/her and I am proudly part of the LGBTQ+ community which is why Hannah Lou Photos is a proud safe space.
I graduated with a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Fashion Photography in the summer of 2022. Thanks to COVID-19 changing the world halfway through, I was able to spend the time finding new priorities such as highlighting the importance of loving yourself and taking the time to do so. Through this, I have found love in the Burlesque community as they cherish (and literally sparkle on) the body we have, met with the glorious applause of their audience. I wish to be your audience, clapping and cheering for your celebration of you.
Because when you truly start to love inwards, you can love outwards with honesty.
Why does Hannah Lou Photos exist?
Seven years of photographic education led me to create Hannah Lou Photos in 2017 with a rebirth to what you see today at the start of 2023.
Growing up with my own body confidence issues, my work is focused around the key values of self love, acceptance and bad b*tchery. Being told to wear longer shirts or bigger skirts at an age where your playtime is still dictated by street lights makes you think differently about your perfectly normal, healthy body.
Hannah Lou Photos aims to highlight the hidden beauty that social standards want to shame, the same ones that were worshipped in ancient artwork.
No matter your size, age, ethnicity, ability etc, Hannah Lou Photos is here to make you feel worshipped.
